What does Altia do?
Altia provides best-in-class User Interface Engineering software and services for embedded user interfaces. You know the cool screen in your car’s instrument cluster? Or the touch screen on your new fridge or washing machine? We do that.
Altia offers tools and talent to get beautiful graphical user interfaces (GUIs) and touchscreens into production on embedded hardware. Our graphics code is driving some of the coolest GUIs in a variety of industries – automotive, medical, industrial, consumer electronics, fitness, home appliances and more.
What are Altia’s products?
Our award-winning suite of model-based user interface development tools will help you get your next GUI from concept to code — fast.
Our core development and integration environment is Altia Design, a GUI builder and user interface design tool for laying out custom GUIs. For embedded systems, DeepScreen embedded GUI software automatically generates deployable C code for a variety of industry-leading hardware targets. We’ve got other powerful tools – like PhotoProto, our Adobe Photoshop add-on – to provide your GUI development team with the power to deliver a market-winning GUI for your next generation device.
We also offer expert user interface design and development services to help plan, prototype and implement your next embedded user interface.
Does Altia do GUIs only for high power hardware? What about low power chips?
Altia supports everything from high-powered, hardware accelerated platforms with lots of memory, to tiny and cost-effective sprite chips. To learn more about DeepScreen and how our tools help you avoid hand coding, go here.
What platforms does Altia support?
The Altia Design editor software is for Windows only.
We offer an ever-expanding list of DeepScreen hardware targets for your production embedded display. Altia generates code for an array of platform configurations – from the low cost, low power hardware all the way to the more capable, high-end processors. Each DeepScreen target is carefully architected to take full advantage of the on-chip resources of your selected processor.
Altia offers code generation support for the world’s leading silicon providers – Cypress Semiconductor, NXP, Renesas, STMicroelectronics and more. We also support major mobile operating systems — Android and iOS. Click here for a sample list of Altia DeepScreen targets.
Can Altia actually help me build a GUI and get it running on hardware?

Where can I get Altia product support?
Can Altia be used to develop automotive displays like instrument clusters and head-up displays?
Absolutely! Altia is already driving some of the most innovative instrument clusters, HUDs, in-vehicle infotainment and driver information screens on the road today. Learn more about Altia for automotive here.
Is Altia a good GUI development solution for medical device GUI development?
What is the cost of Altia software?
Altia’s software is extremely customizable and flexible. We offer a variety of licenses to accommodate your team’s needs — node locked versus regional and worldwide floating licenses, for example. We also offer packages to serve teams focused on design and prototyping as well as those teams who need to generate code for production devices.
Different teams with varying goals need different tools. One size does not fit all when it comes to custom GUIs.
If you give us some more information about your project – type of embedded product, target hardware, RTOS (if any), project start date – we can get you a quick budgetary estimate for an Altia solution. A conversation with a member of our technical team to discuss the specifics of your GUI project and code generation requirements will allow both of us to understand what’s required.
