New release enhances alpha blending, provides multi-thread support and improves target code generation for X11 and Linux.
Colorado Springs, Colo., November 16, 2006 - Altia, Inc., announces the release of DeepScreen 5.0. Altia DeepScreen is a graphics code generator that converts prototype GUIs built on a development host into deployable C or Java code that runs on an embedded target. DeepScreen saves embedded programmers months of graphics development time. DeepScreen 5.0 adds many new features and enhancements beyond its predecessor, DeepScreen 3.0. These enhancements include improved support for X11 targets; including systems running Linux. This broadens DeepScreen’s already strong support for leading RTOSs such as VxWorks, QNX, and Windows CE. DeepScreen 5.0 also provides support for targets with no operating system and memory footprints as small as 5K. This helps to expand DeepScreen’s applicability to high volume, low cost applications found in consumer electronics, automotive displays and medical devices.
DeepScreen 5.0’s enhanced support for alpha blending enables the use of high-end graphics editing tools, such as Photoshop, as a method to build eye-popping GUIs. This will serve to raise the quality and aesthetics of embedded GUIs while still allowing for quick code development.
