Colorado Springs, Colo., January 26, 2007 - Altia, Inc. announces the opening of a direct office in the UK. Previous to this announcement, Altia sales and support in Europe, the UK and Scandinavia were served by Scientific Computers Ltd. (SCL), a software products distributor based in the UK. According to Mike Juran, President of Altia, "SCL supported Altia and the European market very well over the years, but we mutually decided that now is an opportune time for Altia to establish a direct presence in a market where so much creative user interface design work is being done." Teoresi, Altia's distributor in Torino, will continue to serve the Italian market. Ian Smedley will head the new office as Altia's European Product Manager. Prior to this position, Ian was SCL's product expert, with over 6 years of Altia technical and sales experience. Ian will be responsible for both sales and support in the UK, Europe and Scandinavia.
