Hello Everyone,

Downloadable Altia products, patches, demos and utilities become available now and then.

This forum is a great way for our developers and support staff to get the word out, so here we go...

Below are descriptions for all of the downloads that are currently available.

If one or more look interesting, just send an email to support@altia.com to request the link(s) and/or further information. A few items must be purchased as options to Altia Design and/or DeepScreen and this is indicated in their descriptions.

As new downloads become available or existing downloads change, we will post revisions to this topic.

Feedback is welcomed.

Best regards,

Tom Walton

Altia Design 8.075 DeepScreen 5.0 Windows self-extracting install. This is the "new" 8.0 interface version of Altia Design, update 8.075. This release became available in July, 2009. This release is available to customers with an active software support agreement.

In this release, Altia Design adds support for entering a character set for a custom font when the font does not support the ANSI (Western) character set. There are also updated Altia API libraries/DLLs/demos and Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 support. A "classic" interface version of Altia Design is included for legacy projects that require its use. Designs saved in the "classic" interface version open in Altia Design 8.075 (and vice-a-versa).

This release has many new DeepScreen code generator targets and enhancements.

The new or updated DeepScreen code generator targets are:
    - OpenGL ES for Windows, Altera NIOS (new!), Freescale i.MX31 Linux, QNX ARM or X86. Requires DeepScreen license 1016 (an optional purchase).
    - Altera NIOS II with D/AVE graphics acceleration. This target has many new performance improvements! Requires DeepScreen license 1016 (an optional purchase).
    - Fujitsu MB86297 'Carmine' graphics display controller. This is a new target! It is portable to a variety of host processors with an example port to the PowerPC 603e running ThreadX. Requires DeepScreen license 1023 (an optional purchase).
    - Fujistu Jade graphics controller (an ARM926EJ-S CPU with Coral PA graphics acceleration). This target has many new performance improvements, Linux support (new!), QNX OS 6.3.0 support, and the target is portable to other operating systems. Requires DeepScreen license 1022 (an optional purchase).
    - miniGL target to deploy on very simple devices with pixel-based displays. This target has many new improvements! Requires DeepScreen license 1017 (an optional purchase).
    - Toshiba TX4961 with CAPM graphics acceleration or Toshiba TX4964 with CAPA graphics acceleration. This target has several new performance improvements. Requires DeepScreen license 1021 (an optional purchase).
    - Altera Nios II with only a framebuffer. Requires DeepScreen altiaGL license 1014 (an optional purchase).
    - ADI ADSP-BF548 Blackfin with only a framebuffer, a Pixel Compositor, and MemoryDMA. This is a new target! Requires DeepScreen license 1014 (an optional purchase).
    - ATMEL AT91SAM9261S (ARM926EJ-S processor core) with only a framebuffer. This is a new target! Requires DeepScreen license 1014 (an optional purchase).
    - Linux with only a framebuffer. This target has new support for Freescale i.MX31 running Linux and ST SPEAr running Linux! Requires DeepScreen altiaGL license 1014 (an optional purchase).
    - Toshiba TX4961 using only a framebuffer. Requires DeepScreen altiaGL license 1014 (an optional purchase).
The DeepScreen code generator enhancements are:
    - Code generation for OpenGL ES, Altera D/AVE, altiaGL (all targets), Fujitsu Carmine, Fujitsu Jade, Toshiba TX4961, and Toshiba TX4964 optionally support generating code for anti-aliased fonts. Characters are anti-aliased even after rotating, stretching, and/or scaling.
    - Image data can be optionally generated in device dependent bitmap (DDB) format for select targets to use less RAM and achieve faster start-up.
    - Code generation for OpenGL ES, Altera D/AVE, altiaGL (all targets), Fujitsu Carmine, Fujitsu Jade, Toshiba TX4961, and Toshiba TX4964 optionally support generating code for layers (sometimes called overlay planes).
    - Windows CE generated code optionally supports reading PNG files for image data (the Windows, Linux framebuffer, and X11 targets already support this feature).
    - The altiaGL Windows CE targets (directxfb, wincegapi, and windib) can optionally use expanded memory to support memory allocation beyond the 32 megabytes per process limit imposed by Windows CE 5.0 or older.
    - Code generation is now supported for Control variable arrays.
    - Code generation is now supported for dynamic multi-line (Dyna Line object in Altia Design) and dynamic polygon (Dyna Poly object in Altia Design).
    - Windows and OpenGLES generated code support the OpenGL object (the OpenGL object is an optional purchase).
    - Windows generated code can optionally support the creation and manipulation of clone objects.
    - More ranges are now available to limit Unicode font character generation when generating code for any accelerated target (OpenGLES, Altera D/AVE, Fujitsu, Toshiba) or any altiaGL target.
    - Very wide lines (up to 100 pixels) now supported for any altiaGL target or the X11 target.
    - Built-in animations in Altia Design, Altia Runtime, and DeepScreen to get the width and height of an object.

Altia Design 7.06 DeepScreen 5.0 MR1 for Solaris 5.9 and 10. This is a "classic" interface version of Altia Design with the same capabilities of Altia Design 8.06 on Windows and supporting design files saved in Altia Design 8.07 or earlier. A DirectX 3D integration demonstration using the Drawing Area Object (DAO for short, available for optional purchase with Altia Design 7.0 or newer). THIS IS A REALLY SLICK DEMO! Thank Brian Stewart at Altia and Jason Williamson at Altia for this one. This is a Windows XP Altia Runtime demonstration, no guarantee that it works on Windows 2000. The source code for the DirectX/DAO integration DLL is provided so maybe that will help some of us that have been struggling with what the DAO brings to the table. After unzipping, please be sure to read the altia3D/README.txt file for more information before sending emails. Running the demonstration does not require a purchase of the DAO.

Altia Runtime 5.283 for Solaris is Altia Runtime 5.28 with transparent area support and fix for receiving keyboard events in full screen mode. Tested on Solaris 5.5 through 5.9 and likely to run on Solaris 10, but not tested on Solaris 10.

Altia "listen" utility programs for Windows XP and 2000, Windows Cygwin, Linux, Solaris SPARC, and HP-UX. A listen program reports animation events generated by a design while it is running in Altia Design, Altia FacePlate, Altia Runtime or DeepScreen generated code compiled with the Altia API Server software. A listen program runs best in a simple Command Prompt window and is a good way to "sanity check" a design to confirm it is generating the expected events with the expected values.
