Does Altia Design run on the Mac?

Currently, only Altia PhotoProto runs on the Mac. While Altia Design 8.0 can deploy final generated code/applications onto Linux, QNX, Unix, Solaris, and other operating systems using Altia DeepScreen, it can currently only run on Windows machines for the actual user development/design process. The Mac version of Altia Design 8.0 is in development, but does not yet have a solid release date.

The portion of Altia PhotoProto that allows the cross-platform capability is the PhotoProto runtime application/player combined with PhotoProto-generated cross-platform XML code.

We do have a runtime player for Altia Design that works on a Mac. Using that, you could at least view/run your design (.dsn) files made within Altia Design on a Mac (even though you will have to build them using a PC).

Keep checking back, though, because as mentioned above, the Mac version of Altia Design is currently under development.

For clarification,

When you say Mac, do you mean OSX, OS9, all of the above, etc.?

That's a good question. Our Mac runtime currently only runs on OSX 10.4.
