I have a set of 5 icons that I would like to animate like a carousel. Think of a CD changer viewed from a 45 degree angle perspective. The icons would grow in size as they rotate into the center, and then shrink as they rotate out.

I would like to brainstorm about how to achieve this in Altia Design:

1. Since Altia always does a linear interpolation between animation states, how do you animate along a non-linear path? Applying x-position and y-position animations on different group layers results in a 'V' shaped path.
I suppose one way would be to draw a spline as a guide and then manually define many states along that path. This might be OK to animate one icon, but how to coordinate the grow/shrink carousel action of 5 icons simultaneously?

2. Adobe Flash supports this nicely via motion paths; is there any way to export the intelligence behind a Flash motion path to Altia?

3. Another way might be to use a deck. Assuming the icons don't change positions relative to one another, just record the motion and the grow/shrink action of the icons in a 25-card or 50-card deck, depending on the fluidity desired.

I appreciate any feedback,
Jason
