Altia recently co-sponsored the Operational Safe Systems for Automated Driving Conference (September 25-27) at the Bristol Hotel Berlin. This event included a powerful knowledge exchange via presentations, workshops and round table discussions all focused on operational, functional and system safety for automated driving. Our team was joined by our embedded ecosystem partners including Green Hills, Renesas, STMicroelectronics and Texas Instruments as well as representatives from companies like Audi, BMW, Continental, Hyundai, PSA Peugeot Citroën, Renault, Valeo and Visteon.

Altia’s Dr. René Schumann, Field Applications Engineer, and Jason Williamson, VP of Marketing, represented Altia at this exciting event, providing the important perspective about functional safety challenges, strategies and tools related to automotive HMIs. Altia’s user interface development software was on display at the conference expo – showcasing Altia DeepScreen-generated graphics code running on production grade silicon and the Altia Safety Monitor, an ASIL B-compliant embedded software application used to address ISO 26262 requirements in HMI applications.

Altia moderated a series of roundtable discussions about “Functional Safety for the Automotive Cockpit” at Operational Safe Systems for Autonomous Vehicles 2018.

Dr. Schumann and Mr. Williamson also facilitated a series of roundtable conversations about “Functional Safety for the Automotive Cockpit”. Attendees of these roundtables discussed critical considerations for functional safety regarding HMIs, expressing their companies’ challenges around this topic as the automotive landscape continues to evolve toward driverless cars.
