Altia Named 2020 “Company of the Year” by EDCC

Colorado Springs Developer of Automotive, Medical and Consumer Product Interfaces Recognized for Growth, Innovation, Contributions to State Economy

Altia has been honored by the Economic Development Council of Colorado (EDCC) with the 2020 EDIE Awards “Company of the Year“, recognizing outstanding economic development, community support and growth by EDCC partners.

Since 1991, Altia has pioneered Graphical User Interface (GUI) technology. The company was started in Colorado Springs by four Hewlett-Packard developers that discovered a need for graphics tools to prototype instrumentation front panels. Augmented Reality HUDs Will Make Vehicles Safer, But There’s a Catch

As we move toward semi-autonomous and autonomous vehicles, there will be an increasing need for AR-based safety features like head-up displays. There will also be a demand to fill that blank windscreen space with warnings and indicators to the point that drivers become distracted. This is the challenge that automotive HMI developers face as we move toward cars of the future.

Altia Teams with Colorado Springs Companies to Provide Hotspots for Harrison School District 2

All of the students of Harrison School District 2 in Colorado Springs are now equipped with all of the supplies to start school successfully. Beyond pencils, pens, notebooks and laptops, there were hundreds of students who were without a key school supply for the 2020-2021 school year – internet access.

Altia’s CEO, Mike Juran, worked with Randy Rocha of District 2 to understand those specific needs of D2 families. Then he reached out to friends in the community for help. Together, Altia, Pikes Peak Community Foundation, Nor’wood Development Group, Comcast and a host of other generous companies and foundations pitched in to donate internet hotspots and service for those families in need.
