Altia has been honored by the Economic Development Council of Colorado (EDCC) with the 2020 EDIE Awards “Company of the Year“, recognizing outstanding economic development, community support and growth by EDCC partners.
Since 1991, Altia has pioneered Graphical User Interface (GUI) technology. The company was started in Colorado Springs by four Hewlett-Packard developers that discovered a need for graphics tools to prototype instrumentation front panels. Their first customers were automotive, medical and measurement companies, including General Motors, Fluke and HP.
Today, Altia is an international leader in GUI design and development tools, software and services for creating embedded displays in instrument clusters, heads-up displays and vehicle infotainment systems. Altia also supports interfaces for many other products, including medical devices, home appliances, exercise equipment, security systems and industrial controls. With a headquarters in Colorado Springs, Altia has expanded to offices in Europe, Korea and Japan – with additional team members located all over the world. The Altia team is proud to serve industry-leading companies, including Continental Automotive, Denso, Electrolux, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, Ford Motor Company, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai, Magneti Marelli, Nippon Seiki, NordicTrack, Renault, Valeo, Visteon, Whirlpool and more.
Altia has demonstrated a strong commitment to making Colorado Springs a better place to live, work and grow their business. The Altia team is proud to have Colorado Springs as their hometown and global headquarters and looks forward to continuing to build relationships with the EDCC and the local community. In his acceptance speech, Juran said, “I am extremely honored to receive the company of the year award from the Economic Development Council of Colorado on behalf of Altia’s entire team,” and, “I promise to continue to make Colorado proud of our people and products, and I also promise to be a force for good in our community and beyond.”
